Botox

Botox

Also referred to as botulinum toxin, Botox is a purified protein injectable used to reduce the appearance of moderate to severe dynamic wrinkles, including forehead lines, lines between the eyebrows known as the “11s,” and crow’s feet. As a neuromodulator, Botox also quells conditions such as hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), by blocking the signal from the nerve to the muscle.

Botox works by temporarily relaxing the muscles of the body to reduce wrinkles and frown lines. We precisely target the muscles responsible for creating these wrinkles, allowing the skin to smooth out while still allowing our patients to make their natural expressions. When done correctly by an expert injector, Botox should never make a person look “frozen.”

Botox injectable treatments take about 10 minutes to perform. As with any injectable, it is recommended that a consultation with an experienced professional be scheduled before neuromodulator treatment to determine the appropriate dosage and placement. Learn more about Botox at BotoxCosmetic.com.
